La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday been afforded some positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Ronald Araújo has not suffered any sort of serious injury.

Defender Araújo set pulses racing across the Barcelona fanbase on Sunday night, after being forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Sevilla.

En route to a 4-1 Blaugrana triumph, the Uruguayan lasted just over 20 minutes, before succumbing to an ankle problem.

Upon being spotted on the bench in tears with his ankle wrapped in ice, fears surrounding another potentially lengthy spell out of action for Araújo, in turn, quickly spread.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Barca faithful need not fret.

As confirmed by club insider Gerard Romero of Jijantes, amongst others, Araújo has not suffered any form of serious injury:

‘Ronald Araújo has no injury. The Uruguayan has an ankle inflammation due to the bruise sustained during yesterday’s match.’

The stopper could therefore even be declared fit to face Rayo Vallecano next Monday.
