FC Barcelona have been unstoppable across all competitions since the beginning of 2025. The Catalan club are yet to drop a game and continue to be in the reckoning for all three competitions – La Liga, Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

Hansi Flick’s team continued their good form last night against Girona as they coasted to a 4-1 win. Although the game was in the balance at 1-1 until the hour-mark, Barcelona were utterly dominant against their Catalan rivals.

A brace from Robert Lewandowski, a goal from Ferran Torres and an own goal was sufficient to see Barcelona beat Michel’s team and it was the 35th time they had scored 4+ goals in a game so far this season across competitions.

There has been no doubt in the fact that Barcelona have been the best team in attack across Europe this season alongside PSG. As per Mundo Deportivo, the club has scored 20 goals more than Real Madrid in La Liga this season.

Hansi Flick’s men have 82 goals in the Spanish top flight so far this season as compared to Los Blancos’ 62 and have taken only half the number of penalties as their arch rivals, further adding sheen to an incredible stat.

Much was made of the fearsome attack at Real Madrid’s disposal before the start of the season after the Spanish club signed Kylian Mbappe from PSG in addition to already possessing the likes of Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham.

However, it is Barcelona that have run away with all the attacking plaudits led by a 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski who is dominating the goalscoring charts with 25 goals, 3 of which have come from the penalty spot.

Real Madrid’s closest competitor to Lewandowski is Kylian Mbappe who has 22 goals so far in the league, 6 of which has been penalties. Hansi Flick’s team are extremely attack-minded and it comes as no surprise that they are leading their rivals in this metric.

The German coach will be hoping for the team to continue their attacking impetus and keep performing at a high level. If they can continue to do so, this will be a memorable season for Barcelona and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
