Barcelona & Liverpool to battle over Givairo Read signing | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to lock horns with another of the continent’s leading clubs in the battle for the signature of Feyenoord youngster Givairo Read.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Read, for his part, is an 18-year-old defender, capable of lining out at either left or right-back.

The youngster has enjoyed something of a breakout campaign to date in his home country of The Netherlands, with 23 appearances to his name.

Across these outings, Read has also managed to chip in with an impressive seven assists.

And such ongoing development on the part of the Dutch starlet has not gone at all unnoticed across the continent’s leading leagues.

As per Sport, amid their ongoing search for reinforcements with a view to next season, Barcelona have identified Read as a potential market opportunity.

The Blaugrana, though, will not have it all their own way in the race for the defender’s signature, with Liverpool also keeping a close eye on the situation.
