Vitor Roque, currently on loan from Barcelona to Real Betis with an option for a permanent move, is making the most of his time in Spain.
The Brazilian forward, who struggled for game time at Barcelona, is thriving under Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Since joining the club, Roque has been in excellent form, already scoring five goals across all competitions, and has become one of the team’s standout players.
Roque’s journey to Barcelona was a whirlwind, and his time at the club did not go as he had hoped. He had to rush his move from Brazil, not knowing if it would actually happen until just a week before.

“Yes, yes, the truth is that I was in Brazil and I didn’t know if I was going to come or not. I found out that I was going to come to Spain about a week before,” he began saying as quoted by MARCA.
Having been on vacation at the time, he was unprepared for the transition. Once in Barcelona, he struggled to find regular playing time, and his brief stay there left him with little opportunity to settle into the team.
“I was on vacation, I didn’t know. And when I arrived I had few opportunities, I didn’t have time to adapt either.”
Despite these challenges, Roque views his experience at Barcelona as a valuable lesson. He acknowledges the tough moments he faced but believes they helped him grow both personally and professionally.
“The truth is that I had some bad times there, but they serve as a learning experience, you know? I’m very happy to be here. The things I’ve learned there help me today and I’m very happy,” he noted.

Growing up, Roque admired two iconic figures in the world of football. His primary idol was Cristiano Ronaldo, whose discipline and success on the field left a lasting impression.
Additionally, Roque was inspired by fellow Brazilian Neymar, particularly for his unique style of play and creativity.
“Cristiano. And I really like Neymar too, for his way of playing, his Brazilian magic. But Cristiano too, to be honest,” he admitted.
These influences have shaped Roque’s approach to the game, and he is now showcasing his own skills in Spain, ready to make the most of his time at Betis.
