Over the last few weeks, FC Barcelona has been making a lot of progress in terms of contract negotiations. After a lot of rumors began to spiral and suggest that a certain player could end up leaving the club, the Catalan giants got to work quickly. Now, at last, it seems that Barcelona has managed to resolve that issue.
That player was Ronald Araujo, and his constant links to Juventus possibly pushed Barcelona to secure his contract renewal as quickly as possible. Now, with an extension until 2031, the club is much more relieved about his contractual situation considering how uncertain it was at a point in time.
Moreover, this now allows Barcelona to work on other contract negotiations that are much simpler to resolve due to the commitment of all involved parties. One of these negotiations was set to involve 22-year-old Spanish midfielder Pedri, whose renewal at the club is a priority as well.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the latest update on the renewal front for Pedri is that the player has already reached a verbal agreement with the club on the conditions of the new contract. The renewal is expected to keep the Barcelona midfielder at the club until 2030.
The Italian journalist has further confirmed that the final details will be sorted out with the player’s representatives soon as well. While there is no date established just yet for the official signing of the renewal, the progression has been positive so far.
As for Pedri himself, he has already committed to the new contract and wants to stay at the club for many more years. Already a key player for Hansi Flick’s side despite his young age, the Spaniard is seen by Barcelona as one of the fundamental players for the team’s new generation.
Having been an instrumental piece for the team both on and off the pitch, he is now also one of the captains at the club. Adored by fans and teammates alike, it seems like Pedri is here to stay and thrive at Barcelona for the years to come.
