Having arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, Dani Olmo has endured a stop-start campaign at FC Barcelona.
Apart from the headache from his registration woes, the 26-year-old Spanish international has also been bogged down by injury problems on his return to his boyhood club.
Olmo has missed ten games across all competitions due to muscle problems and only recently made his comeback from his second injury.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, following in the footsteps of Pedri, Olmo has taken another step towards enhancing his physical performance by undergoing a genetic study aimed at improving his reliability and preventing injuries.
On Wednesday, the Spanish attacking midfielder held a meeting with the Barcelona technical staff to analyse the results and determine key areas of focus in his training, as well as new habits to incorporate into his daily routine.

The results have been very optimistic. According to the data obtained, all of Olmo’s parameters fall within the normal range for his age, given his match and training workload.
With this information, the coaching team can tailor his preparation to maximise his potential while safeguarding his physical condition. Preventative strategies will be put in place to strengthen his musculature and reduce injury risks.
This strategy has worked wonders for Pedri this season, who has been playing at his best without any physical problems. And the aim is to replicate the same with Olmo.
In fact, the report adds that Barcelona are set to implement genetic studies across its squad as part of a broader injury prevention strategy.
The primary objective is to protect the club’s most valuable assets, the top-level players, by tailoring training programmes to each individual’s specific characteristics, including position, muscle structure, explosiveness, and anatomy.
