FC Barcelona continue to work their way through the final stretch of this ongoing season. Still fighting for three crucial titles, Hansi Flick’s team has had barely any time to rest. However, time will not stand still for Barcelona and they must carry on with the games up ahead.
Unfortunately for the Catalan giants, the schedule will not be getting any less hectic than it already has been so far. With Real Madrid now knocked out of the UEFA Champions League, Los Blancos only really have the Copa del Rey final and La Liga to focus on.
Barcelona, on the other hand, have to focus on winning all three competitions as it stands. They have a semi-final tie against Inter Milan already set up, and they must defend their lead in La Liga while simultaneously focusing on the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
In fact, as highlighted by AS, Barcelona must now play seven crucial games across all three competitions in the next 23 days. On average, that means there is a gap of barely three days between each game and La Blaugrana cannot afford to slip up in any of them.
Their first test will arrive in the form of 7th placed Celta Vigo in La Liga, as their opponents are set to visit the Montjuic Stadium for the upcoming league game on Saturday. Soon after that, on the 22nd of April, Barcelona will play against 8th placed RCD Mallorca at home once again in La Liga.
Right after that fixture, Barcelona will take on Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on the 26th of April in Seville. Just a few days after that, on the 30th of the month, Barça will welcome Inter Milan to the Montjuic Stadium to play the first leg of their semi-final tie in the UEFA Champions League.
After that, Barça will travel away to Real Valladolid for their league game on the 4th of May. That game will then be followed up the UEFA Champions League second-leg against Inter Milan at their home stadium on the 7th of May. Finally, on the 11th of May, Barcelona will take on Real Madrid in La Liga at the Montjuic Stadium for the final El Clasico of the season.
Once they manage to get through these games, and if they manage to reach the Champions League final, the last few days of the season will also be quite demanding. With three La Liga games in just ten days against the likes of RCD Espanyol, Villarreal, and Athletic Club, Barcelona would then have to head over to Germany for the Champions League final in Munich on the 31st of May.
At this point, it is clear enough that fatigue will undoubtedly try to drag the team down. However, Barcelona must now prepare themselves to put their body and soul on the line for the team as they have the opportunity to do something truly historic.
