Barcelona president Joan Laporta has this week made public his frustration with the Spanish football federation’s recent treatment of Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine was of course forced into a premature departure from international duty earlier this week.

This came after the 17-year-old picked up a fitness issue, on the back of Spain’s Nations League downing of Denmark on Saturday.

Lamine was released from Luis de la Fuente’s camp less than 24 hours later, to return to Barcelona for further tests, and ensuing treatment.

As much came amid the understanding that La Roja had actively pushed the young attacker to depart, to ensure that his injury concern was not aggravated in any way.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest comments on the part of Joan Laporta are anything to go by, then the Spanish federation, in fact, may not have been quite so thoughtful…

Speaking during an interview with ‘Barca One‘ late this week, Barcelona’s president suggested that La Roja attempted to talk Lamine into staying put, with a view to testing his fitness against Serbia on Tuesday:

“We didn’t like the fact that they tried to convince Lamine to play against Serbia on Tuesday, so we had to make a move.”
