There is no doubt that Neymar was one of the most exciting players to have donned the FC Barcelona jersey in the last decade, and he was one of the main stars of the team that won the treble under Luis Enrique in the 2014-15 season.
That season still remains the pinnacle of the Brazilian star’s career, as he went on a downhill road from there, especially after leaving the Blaugranes to join PSG.
He left the Parisian club without meeting the high expectations set on him, but his time with the Saudi side Al-Hilal was even worse, as he spent most of his time on the sidelines.
Last winter, he returned to his native country as he joined Santos, and from the looks of it, the Brazilian is slowly recovering the form that made him such a differential player in his prime.
Meanwhile, speculation about a possible return to Barcelona is also rife. However, according to SPORT, the Catalans have already set the condition that Neymar will have to show consistency and score at least 15 goals with Santos before they can consider getting him back in their team.
The Samba star wants to return to the Blaugrana club for two main reasons. Firstly, he wants to show that he is not yet finished by making a return to a side that is once again a contender for the top trophies in Spain and Europe.
Secondly, he understands that the high sporting demands that he will face at Barcelona will help him improve his chances of playing and helping his side win the World Cup next year.
However, the Catalans are yet not too excited with the possibility of having Neymar back in their team, even though his early performances with Santos have provided a lot of cause for optimism. Still, the Blaugranes understand that he has a long way to go, and as things stand, there are no open negotiations for his transfer.
