Earlier this week, FC Barcelona announced two major contract renewals as first Hansi Flick and then Raphinha penned new extensions with the club.

Flick extended his contract with the Blaugrana until 2027 after leading them to the domestic treble in his debut season.

Meanwhile, Raphinha, who has emerged as one of the Catalans’ best players this season, renewed his deal until 2028.

Eric Garcia, Casado, Bernal up next

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have now shifted their focus to the contract renewal of defender Eric Garcia.

Garcia’s current contract with Barcelona expires in 2026. The Spanish international came close to leaving during the winter but the club blocked a €8 million move to Como at the insistence of Flick.

Now seen as a valuable member of the team, Barça want to renew Garcia with Deco already in talks with his camp over an extension.

In addition to the versatile centre-back, youngsters Marc Casado and Marc Bernal are also expected to sign new deals in the coming weeks.

Casado signed a new contract with Barça only last year, at which point he was promoted from the reserve squad to the first team.

The youngster has since stepped up and delivered on the big stage and appears set to be rewarded with a new and improved deal.

As for Bernal, Barcelona have already reached an agreement over a new contract until 2029 which will be signed next week once he turns 18 years old.

The spree of renewals is only expected to continue thereafter as Barcelona are also working on new deals for Frenkie de Jong, Jules Kounde, and Lamine Yamal, who has already agreed on an extension.
