Barcelona attacking pair Raphinha and Lamine Yamal were pipped to the Man of the Match award by a starring teammate on Tuesday evening.
The player in question? Pedri.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago.
Turning attentions back towards matters in Europe, the Blaugrana welcomed Benfica to Catalunya’s capital, for a Champions League Last-16 clash.
And, when all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops marched on to the competition’s quarter-finals, courtesy of a 3-1 triumph (4-1 on aggregate).
Leading the way en route to as much were wing duo Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, who conjured up brilliant respective performances en route to a combined three goals and two assists.
And yet, as alluded to above, it was another member of Hansi Flick’s squad who was recognised for his display courtesy of the Man of the Match award.
After conjuring up another trademark masterclass in the middle of the park, Pedri was named UEFA’s official MVP for the evening.
