Barcelona star could miss as long as 8 weeks through injury | OneFootball

Barcelona star Ferran Torres is in line for an extended spell on the sidelines moving forward.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have confirmed that the Spanish international’s latest injury setback has proven to be more serious than first hoped.

Ferran was of course forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s La Liga downing of Deportivo Alavés over the weekend, after pulling up with a muscular problem inside three minutes.

The former Manchester City man, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests this morning, which confirmed that he has suffered a hamstring injury.

Whilst Barcelona did not provide much insight into the extent of the issue, the aforementioned Mundo Deportivo have confirmed that it is no small matter:

‘This Monday, the Blaugrana team confirmed an injury to his femoral biceps, but did not stipulate a return date, unlike other recent cases, although MD can advance that the forward will be out for 8 weeks.’

Should such a timeline prove accurate, Ferran is in line to miss around 11 competitive fixtures.
