Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick held an uncomfortable meeting with an unhappy member of his squad this week.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Iñaki Peña as the player in question.
Peña, for his part, has of course endured a difficult time of things in Catalunya’s capital of late.
After initially being installed as the new no.1 in Barcelona’s squad following the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, the Spaniard has since lost his place to Wojciech Szczęsny.
Unable to understand precisely why, Peña, in turn, this week requested a sit-down with boss Hansi Flick.
Unfortunately for the shot-stopper, however, he left as much feeling even more frustrated than before.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Flick urged the goalkeeper to accept the new reality and Peña left that conversation with a bitter taste in his mouth and the feeling that from then on it would be very difficult for him to get playing time again.’
So disheartened is Peña, in fact, that the 25-year-old is now ‘seriously considering’ his Barcelona future beyond the summer.
