La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend been afforded a boost on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Ronaldo Araújo has linked back up with his teammates in group training.
Stopper Araújo was for his part of course forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s most recent outing.
En route to a 4-1 victory over Sevilla, the Uruguayan pulled up early on with an ankle problem.
Araújo, in turn, went on to limp out of proceedings, with his visual distress on the bench having given rise to fears surrounding a potentially lengthy incoming spell on the sidelines.
Ensuing tests, thankfully, confirmed that the 25-year-old had not suffered any sort of serious injury.
He had nevertheless been forced to sit out training across the week to date, dealing with swelling and ongoing pain in his ankle.
But as alluded to above, on Saturday, Araújo took a significant step back towards full fitness.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Although he started the session separately from his teammates, he joined the group in the second part of the training session.’
It now remains to be seen if the defender is given the green light to take his place in Hansi Flick’s squad to face Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.
