Barcelona star ruled out of Espanyol clash | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona will be forced to make do without a leading member of the club’s backline in their next outing.

The player in question? Iñigo Martínez.

Defender Iñigo was for his part in from the off once more this evening, as Barcelona welcomed arch rivals Real Madrid to Catalunya’s capital for a crunch showdown atop the La Liga table.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 4-3 result, to all but secure the title in Spain’s top-flight.

One source of concern for Hansi Flick and co. on an otherwise positive day’s work, however, was forthcoming on the personnel front.

This came during the 2nd-half, upon the aforementioned Iñigo Martínez being shown a yellow card.

The veteran stopper’s fifth of the La Liga campaign to date, Iñigo is therefore facing up to a one-game suspension, to be served against Espanyol this week.
