A long-term member of the sidelined contingent at La Liga giants Barcelona was on Monday spotted back in training alongside the rest of the club’s squad.
The player in question? Marc-André ter Stegen.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen has for his part of course been out of action since all the way back in September of last year.
This comes after the German suffered a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee, during Barcelona’s 5-1 La Liga victory over Villarreal.
Ter Stegen has spent the months since in steady recovery, with a view to being fit and available for selection for the start of next season.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then the 32-year-old could yet mark his comeback much, much sooner.
As per a report from journalist Helena Condis of COPE:
‘Ter Stegen has taken part in the training session with the group.’
It is added that the 32-year-old is ‘delighted’ with how his rehabilitation is progressing, with hope mounting that Ter Stegen will be back on the pitch before the season is out.
