Barcelona stars question Hansi Flick over teammate’s drop in game time | OneFootball

Several leading members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona have questioned manager Hansi Flick over teammate Iñaki Peña’s sudden reduction in minutes.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Goalkeeper Peña, for his part, has of course endured a difficult time of things in Catalunya’s capital of late.

After initially being installed as the new no.1 in Barcelona’s squad following the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, the Spaniard has since lost his place to Wojciech Szczęsny.

Unable to understand precisely why, Peña, in turn, is said to have been left heavily affected from a mental standpoint.

Eager to keep morale in the club’s squad up, Barca’s players have therefore rallied around their downtrodden teammate, who has long stood as a dressing room favourite.

Some, in fact, have gone as far as to quiz their manager, in an effort to provide Peña with a better understanding of the situation.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Not even some of his colleagues have fully understood the reasons that have led Hansi Flick to bet exclusively on Szczęsny. In that sense, there are also those who, showing their ascendancy in the group, asked the German coach directly about the case.’
