Barcelona are well aware that signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle United will be a major challenge, with reports from Mundo Deportivo confirming that the Catalan club understands all the difficulties involved in pursuing the Swedish forward.
Isak has been on Barcelona’s radar for some time due to his exceptional technical skills, ability to link up with teammates both inside and outside the box, and his impressive goal-scoring form this season.
The club is actively exploring the market, particularly because they lack a reliable backup for Robert Lewandowski in the striker role.
For what it is worth, securing Isak’s signature will be anything but straightforward. The 25-year-old has caught the attention of several elite European clubs, making the competition for his services extremely tough.
Barcelona know they are not the only ones interested, as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all identified him as a key target. These Premier League giants see him as an ideal reinforcement for their attacking line-ups.
Beyond England, clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on the Newcastle striker.

His performances in the Premier League have only increased his value, making him one of the most sought-after forwards in European football.
Apart from strong competition, the financial aspect of this potential deal presents another significant hurdle. Isak is under contract with Newcastle until 2028, meaning the club holds the upper hand in negotiations.
Even if Newcastle fail to secure Champions League qualification, they may struggle to keep hold of him, as the Swedish international is eager to play in the competition. However, if he pushes for a move, his price tag remains high.
Newcastle originally paid close to €90 million, including add-ons, to sign Isak from Real Sociedad. If they decide to sell, they would demand over €100 million to make a profit.
Additionally, his salary, which currently stands at approximately €18 million gross per year, would likely increase if he moves to another club.
For Barcelona, such a high-profile transfer would require financial adjustments. The club must comply with La Liga’s financial regulations, meaning they would need to generate funds through player sales before making a move for Isak.
While their interest in the striker is strong, the financial and competitive obstacles make this a highly complex operation.
