Barcelona ‘very interested’ in signing of Borussia Dortmund youngster | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are expressing a keen interest in the signature of Borussia Dortmund talent Jamie Gittens.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.

Gittens, for those not familiar with his name, is a 20-year-old attacker, who generally operates on the left flank.

The Englishman has enjoyed something of a breakout season to date on the books of the aforementioned Borussia Dortmund, with 11 goals and five assists in 33 appearances to his name.

Gittens boasts explosive pace, superb close control and impressive finished product for a player of such tender years.

And such traits, evidently, have not gone unnoticed behind the scenes at the aforementioned Barcelona.

As per a report from Sport:

‘FC Barcelona are very interested in the English winger of only 20 years old Jamie Gittens, whom they have been following all season.’

The Blaugrana would love nothing more than to add Gittens to Hansi Flick’s attacking ranks, but are aware that they are currently behind in the race for his signature.

As much comes with Dortmund ready to demand a sum in the region of €80 million for his signature this summer, a fee out of the reach of the Camp Nou brass.

The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are therefore considered more realistic landing spots.
