After not having made any additions to their squad in the last winter transfer window, FC Barcelona are expected to strengthen their squad in the next summer window.

One of the areas that the Blaugranes will be looking to strengthen with the highest priority will be the left wing, and they have already been linked with some very interesting names for this position.

This was also the case last summer when the Catalans were also looking to strengthen the left wing with the incorporation of one of the most exciting wingers in La Liga, the Athletic Club forward Nico Williams.

However, Barcelona were ultimately unable to land the Spaniard, owing to their own economic problems and the pressure that Nico faced to remain at his current club.

But the possibility of him landing at the Catalan club is still not extinguished, as Fichajes reports that the Blaugranes are still considering him as a priority target and will do everything possible to achieve his acquisition.

Nico Williams is an important part of Ernesto Valverde’s team at Athletic Club, and shares the dressing room with his brother Inaki Williams. Still, it is looking likely that he will leave the Basque club in the coming summer transfer window.

Barcelona like him for his speed, dribbling ability, and being a differential winger. However, the Catalans also understand that getting him will not really be easy, as his signing will involve a significant transfer fee, especially considering the reluctance of Athletic Club to part ways with him.

However, they are also clear that they want to strengthen their wings before the start of the next season, and Nico Williams remains one of the best-suited candidates for them. Thus, as was the case last summer, the coming few months will once again be pivotal for the Spanish winger.
