A member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to be afforded his first-team bow this coming weekend.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Rodríguez as the player in question.

Rodríguez, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old winger, who is currently plying his trade with Barca Atlètic.

The Spaniard has long been considered a potential star in the making behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, boasting impressive technique and an eye for the spectacular.

Amid what has been an injury-hit campaign to date, Rodríguez has nevertheless managed to rack up six goal contributions in 10 league appearances.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then such exploits look set to be rewarded this weekend.

As per a report from MD, after the attacker was spotted in senior training at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this week:

‘Hansi Flick’s idea is that Dani Rodríguez, who he is counting on to play in the next preseason, could get some minutes in the second half’ against Real Valladolid on Saturday.
