The Polish forward had netted 33 goals in his debut season at Barcelona (2022-23), a mark he equalled in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid. With his latest strike, he now stands at 34 goals for the season.

Efficient scorer

What makes this achievement even more impressive is the efficiency with which he has reached it. During his first season, he required 46 appearances to hit 33 goals.

This time around, he has surpassed that figure in just 37 matches—almost 10 games fewer—.

At 36 years old, he still has at least 15 more matches to extend his record further. So far, Lewandowski has netted 62 goals in La Liga and 92 in all competitions since joining Barcelona.

The Barcelona number 9 is also on course to set new personal records in each competition he participates in. During the 2022-23 La Liga season, he finished as the league’s top scorer with 23 goals.

Currently, he leads the charts with 21 goals, holding a four-goal advantage over Kylian Mbappe. With 12 league matches remaining, Lewandowski has a strong chance of securing another top-scorer accolade.

Other competitions

In the Champions League, he has already outperformed his previous campaign. Last season, he managed five goals in five matches.

This time, he has struck nine times in just eight games, placing him at the top of the scoring charts. In the Copa del Rey, he has also matched his previous total, scoring twice so far.

Lewandowski’s goal-scoring prowess remains a vital asset for Barcelona, and with plenty of matches left to play, he has every opportunity to extend his numbers even further.
