Inter star Nicolà Barella feels ‘like swearing’ after a massive 5-0 loss in the Champions League Final and admits ‘PSG wanted it more.’
Serie A giants Inter suffered the heaviest Final defeat in a major European tournament last night, losing 5-0 to Ligue 1 champions PSG.
“I feel like swearing, but I’m trying to hold myself back,” Barella told Sky Sport Italia via Gazzetta.
“There’s a lot of disappointment because the image left by this Final kind of erases the journey.”
Inter had qualified for the final by beating, among others, Arsenal in the league phase, as well as Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the knockout rounds.
The semifinal against Barcelona was epic as it saw the Nerazzurri progress to the Final with a 7-6 aggregate win.
“In football, as in life, it’s the final moments that people remember; however, I’m incredibly proud of the team and what we put on the pitch,” continued Barella.

“In the end, what remains are the trophies, unfortunately. I’m really happy to be part of this group, which has given everything. Congratulations to PSG, they were stronger in every aspect.
“The biggest regret is that they wanted it more. Today, we missed the heart in the most important game,” he continued.
Inter dreamt of winning the treble barely a month ago, but they’ve finished the season empty-handed.
“It hurts, we are all disappointed, but that’s football,” Barella concluded.

“Sometimes, you take a hit and you have to bounce back, roll up your sleeves and try to bring Inter where we deserve to be.
“We gave our all this season, in every competition. The victory didn’t come, but I am super proud of the work we’ve done.”
Inter will also be involved in the Club World Cup in two weeks. The Nerazzurri are one of the two Serie A representatives in the summer’s competition, the other one is Juventus.
Barella scored three goals and provided eight assists in 52 appearances across all competitions this season.
