Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of German international midfielder Jonas Hofmann from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The 30-year-old has signed a four-year deal at Die Werkself after Leverkusen triggered his €10m release clause.
Hofmann scored 40 goals and provided 40 assists in over 180 appearances for Gladbach, with his recent form earning him a call-up to Germany’s World Cup 2022 squad.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the winger said: “I am very grateful to Borussia for the past seven years. I had an outstanding time there.
“Recently, however, I had the feeling that I wanted to do something new. Bayer 04 fits in with these thoughts, the club has been one of the top German clubs for years and is always ambitious internationally.
“I’m really excited for this next chapter.”
Hofmann will don the no.7 shirt for Xabi Alonso’s side.
