Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in making a shock move for Hamburg centre-back David Bates in January.
Bates has only been in Germany for a few months having signed for Der Dino from Rangers over the summer.
The towering Scottish defender has impressed in the 2.Bundesliga however, with scouts from several top level European clubs believed to be keen on his services.
However a story in sport.de has claimed that it’s the Bavarians who are leading the chase for the 22-year-old as they look to bolster their defence during the winter window.
It’s claimed that Hamburg would be willing to listen to offers for the youngster, but would command a figure of around €12m.
Everton and Crystal Palace are two other clubs thought to be watching Bates carefully.
