Bayern Munich interested in shock move to sign Man United star

Liverpool’s transfer business under Arne Slot is quickly shifting into high gear. In what could be the summer’s defining move, TEAMtalk reports that the Reds have won the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz for a staggering €150m (£126m). Journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed that Wirtz had been a long-standing Bayern Munich target, but in a dramatic twist, opted to head to Anfield instead.
This is not just a signing – it’s a signal. Liverpool are ready to challenge again, and in Wirtz, they’ve landed one of the most creative midfielders in European football. Bayern, meanwhile, have been left scrambling.
TEAMtalk sources confirm that Bayern are now plotting a move for Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, a player long admired in Bavaria. The 30-year-old Portugal international, who contributed 19 goals and 19 assists this season, remains pivotal to United’s set-up, but the Red Devils’ failure to qualify for the Champions League complicates matters.

“The Red Devils and manager Ruben Amorim are desperate to keep Fernandes but as reported on May 22, he could be reluctantly sold to fund the club’s rebuild this summer.”
Vincent Kompany’s side are said to be ready to hold talks with United. Fernandes is open to staying but, “will look at other options should Ruben Amorim’s side decide they need to sell him.”
United’s summer hinges on finances. Amorim reportedly needs to oversee a major overhaul – and Fernandes is the club’s most valuable asset. Yet the bar has been set high.
“Sources state that it would take a bid of over £100m for them to consider a sale.”The reported £80m offer from Saudi side Al Hilal won’t cut it, but Bayern may return to the table. As TEAMtalk rightly notes, Bayern were willing to go all in on Wirtz – the question is whether they’d spend similarly on a player eight years older.
What’s clear is that Bayern are in transition, and missing out on Wirtz marks a rare failure in their recruitment dominance. Fernandes, for all his qualities, would be a different kind of signing – a leader, rather than a rising star.
TEAMtalk’s scoop underlines the brewing chaos at United and Bayern’s desperation. But for Liverpool, this is calm, calculated execution.
It’s hard to swallow, but it’s becoming increasingly real – Manchester United could sell Bruno Fernandes. For many fans, this would feel like the ultimate betrayal of ambition. “Notched 19 goals and 19 assists across all competitions this season” – and he’s the one we sell?
Supporters know the club missed out on Champions League football and accept changes are needed, but not this change. Bruno is the heartbeat, the captain, the player who often carries the team through poor spells. Replacing him with what? Prospects? Projects?
There’s also disbelief at the rumoured Saudi bid. £80m? For our captain? It wouldn’t even buy one of his legs. If Bayern want him, they better pay up – but most fans would rather he stays and sees out the rebuild. Sell Antony, Sancho, even Rashford – but not Fernandes.
And let’s not forget the optics: Liverpool get Wirtz, we lose Bruno? The gap just widens. Something has to give – and ideally, it’s not our best player walking out the door.
