Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in taking a punt on Espanyol midfielder Nicolas Melamed.
The 18-year-old is a mainstay of the Catalan club’s reserve team, with his only senior appearance coming as a substitute in the Europa League win over Luzern last August.
Nevertheless, according to Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Bayern are prepared to activate the teenager’s release clause and bring him to Germany.
Melamed, who came through Espanol’s academy and is contracted with them until 2023, plays mainly in the number 10 role.
His displays with Espanyol B in the Spanish third division have also attracted interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
Should he decide to sign with the Bundesliga leaders, he is likely to be placed with the Bavarians reserve team at first.
