There was yet more misery for Barcelona in the first half of their Champions League clash against Benfica.
The home side took an early lead after some comical defending gave Darwin Nunez far too much room to rifle off a shot.
Marc Andre Ter Stegen was caught woefully out of position as well, as the ball slid past his right hand and in at the near post.
The gravity of the playing crisis at the Catalan giants was brought into sharp focus when stalwart Gerard Pique substituted off, for what are believed purely tactical reasons , after just 32 minutes.
As they struggled at the back, the forward going situation wasn't much better, especially with member of the Benfica side prepared to resort to superhuman measures to keep their goal intact.
Barca looked they were certain to score as Frankie De Jong streaked through on goals.
With an apparent two on one with the Benfica goalkeeper, it looked harder to miss than it would be to score.
That was until, Lucas Verissimo intervened with one of the most superb last gasp challenges you could ever hope to see.
Verissimo looked a non-entity as Barca raced towards goal but somehow got back and got a foot in to prevent the Spanish side from equalising.
Absolutely unreal.
At the time of writing, thanks in no small part to Verissimo's 'Inspector Gadget' leg, the score remained 1-0 to the Portuguese side.
