Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko is said to be unhappy with the amount of playing time he is getting on loan at French side OGC Nice.
Youssoufa Moukoko was keen to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer due to frustrations over his lack of playing time. After much speculation, he ended up joining OGC Nice on an initial loan deal. While he made an encouraging start to life in France, the highly rated striker has only been used sporadically in recent weeks.
According to SportBILD, BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl spoke with Moukoko a few weeks ago and the striker said that he is unhappy with his playing time. The magazine adds that the 20 year old will return to Borussia Dortmund next summer, with Nice currently not planning to sign him permanently at the end of his loan spell.
Moukoko has been an unused substitute in four of Nice's last five league games. And even in the game he did feature in, he was only brought on in the 90th minute. The Germany U-21s international did start for Nice in their Europa League clash against Rangers on November 29, but was taken off in the 70th minute as they lost 4-1.
In total, Moukoko has been on the pitch for 483 minutes this season. He has two goals and two assists to his name.
Youssoufa Moukoko's current contract at Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season. And it will certainly be interesting to see what the future holds for him beyond the summer transfer window. Moukoko has made 99 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 18 goals and assisting a further eight.
