Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy is not unsellable this summer due to release clause

Serhou Guirassy has been pivotal to Borussia Dortmund’s fightback in the race for Champions League football next season. No player has scored more goals in the rückrunde (second half of the season) than the forward this season.
With a season tally of 19 and counting in the Bundesliga, you would think Guirassy is unsellable. However, as recently reported by SportBild, the Guinean international has a clause in his contract that would allow another top club to sign in.
There is no question that BVB and Guirassy are happy working together, however, a €70m release clause in his contract means the top striker is not unsellable this summer.
Should a club from a top European league, or Saudi Arabia for that matter, wish to pay that amount for the 29-year-old, it would be tough for Dortmund not to part ways with a fan favourite.
BVB Managing Director, Lars Ricken, isn’t too concerned about a possible Guirassy departure: “Serhou wanted to go to BVB. And not to go away after one year.”
The exit clause is a large sum, but it is also a possible temptation for a club that has the funds and needs a proven goalscorer.
