According to Le Parisien, Stade Brestois are set to sign Borussia Dortmund centre-back Soumaïla Coulibaly (20) on a season-long loan.

It has been a difficult transfer window for Brest, who have struggled to add quality and depth to their side, despite the allure of UEFA Champions League football this season. Multiple key players have departed, including Martín Satriano, Steve Mounié, and Lilian Brassier.

The departure of the latter leaves a void in the Brest defence, which, at least in part, now looks set to be filled by Coulibaly. The Paris Saint-Germain academy product, now plying his trade at Borussia Dortmund, spent last season on loan at Antwerp, where he got his first taste of Champions League football.

Coulibaly, as per Le Parisien, will join Les Pirates on a season-long loan, without a purchase option. It is understood that the French centre-back is already in Brest in order to complete the move. Only the officialisation remains.
