With only a week remaining until the next international break is underway, Arsenal players have started to receive call-ups from their national teams.
Brazil have confirmed their squad for the October fixtures, with Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes both involved.
Gabriel Magalhaes is not a surprise inclusion, given he started both of Brazil’s matches in September. The centre-back may have been a fringe player for his country in the first half of 2024, but he looks to have reclaimed his role as a starter now.

Martinelli’s call-up is more unexpected. After playing a limited role at Copa America, Martinelli was dropped from the Brazil squad entirely in September.
It was hard to argue against that decision, with the winger struggling for consistency with Arsenal in August.
September has been much better, with Martinelli catching the eye against Spurs before going on to provide a goal and two assists in his last two starts.
The 23-year-old still needs to follow that up with more strong performances against PSG and Southampton this week. But it makes sense that Dorival Jr has decided to bring him back into the fold.

As for Gabriel Jesus, the striker remains absent from his national team. His last call-up was in 2023, and with limited Arsenal minutes under his belt this season, that never looked like changing in October.
