Carlos Augusto returned to the scoresheet to help Inter Milan see off Atalanta in last night’s Serie A title six-pointer.
Speaking to InterTV via FCInterNews, he confessed he has been working on his heading skills at the San Siro.
Inter boss Simone Inzaghi handed the Brazilian star his second successive start in Serie A.
With Federico Dimarco injured, Augusto had to step up again.
However, the 26-year-old seemed unfazed by the size of the shoes he had to fill last night.
Indeed, he offered another reassuring performance to earn the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Augusto opened the scoring with a free header early in the second half.
Left unmarked near the six-yard box, he headed home Hakan Calhanoglu’s inch-perfect corner-kick delivery.
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez sealed Atalanta’s fate with a clinical finish down the final stretch.
“They mark man-to-man and make it tough,” Augusto said. “But we worked all week for this.
“It was a hard-fought win and crucial for our title race. Every win counts in this league.

“We must keep going because this title race will be tight until the very end.”
The match had to be suspended moments before Augusto’s goal.
Indeed, a medical emergency in the stands forced a quick stop as the Brazilian ace wished the fan a quick recovery.
“I hope the fan is okay,” Augusto said. “These situations can break concentration, but we stayed sharp.
“I’m happy for the goal and, most importantly, for the three points.”
Finally, he thanked Calhanoglu for the assist and revealed his happiness for the goal and another victory.
“I’ve been working on my heading for a while,” he confessed. “We know we’re strong on set-pieces, and today, they made the difference.
“Credit to Calhanoglu for the assist.
“In modern football, some games are very tight, and dead-ball situations can be decisive, just like tonight.”
