The MLS official website sparked mass confusion on Wednesday night bizarrely publishing that Celtic striker Kyogo had officially signed for Ronny Deila’s Atlanta United. Since then, the MLS issued an apology for ‘mistakenly’ posting on their website which announced the arrival of the Japanese striker to America.
Speaking ahead of today’s lunchtime kick off in Dingwall Brendan Rodgers insisted that Kyogo will be involved in the Celtic squad amidst the ongoing transfer speculation around the 29 year-old. When asked about his thoughts on what occurred this week, the Celtic manager said, “I can guarantee you that he’ll be on the coach and travelling to Ross County, he’s certainly not in the MLS.

“In this period of time, there’s always speculation around players, especially talented players, so I’m sure that will continue to be the case over the coming weeks.”
It has been widely reported that Atlanta United has a keen interest in Kyogo. However, the MLS transfer window does not shut until 23 April leaving a significant period of time for an official bid to be made.

Like mentioned in my opinion piece yesterday on The Celtic Star website, Celtic may weigh up their own options around the striker once their Champions League group phase is completed at the end of this month.
No signing made in January will be eligible for the remaining two group stage matches in the Champions League this month, against Young Boys at Celtic Park and Aston Villa at Villa Park. However January signings will be eligible for the play-off rounds that follow, should Celtic make it through.
