Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed the arrival of midfielder Carlos Baleba from Ligue 1 side Lille.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the American Express Community Stadium, with the Seagulls reported to have paid a fee worth around €30m which would see Baleba with fellow summer arrival Joao Pedro with becoming the clubs’ record signing.
Baleba had been at Lille since January 2022, making his debut for the senior team in September 2022 and going on to make a further 21 appearances.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Baleba said: “Carlos is a very good player.
“He’s very young but a specific player for our style. He will be the future of the club.”
