Joël Veltman has signed a two-year contract extension with Brighton.
The versatile defender was due to become a free agent after his existing deal with Roberto De Zerbi’s side expired last month.
But Veltman, 31, reaffirmed his commitment to the Seagulls on Monday with a new deal that ties his future to the club until June 2025.
“I am very pleased that he has extended his contract,” said De Zerbi.
“He is a good example to the other players, and he will be a key and important player for us.”
Veltman joined Brighton from boyhood club Ajax in 2020 for a fee in the region of £900,000.
The Netherlands international has made 83 appearances for the South Coast club, who sealed a Europa League place last season.
