WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this evening.
The 18-year-old joined Brighton & Hove Albion from Crystal Palace in 2021 and she has progressed through the club’s well-respected academy system. Johnson made her senior debut for the Sussex club last season and she has also had the benefit of playing regular Professional Game Academy League football.
Johnson is highly-rated by Brighton & Hove Albion and the club have therefore moved to retain her services on a full-time professional basis.
After the club agreed professional terms with Johnson, Brighton & Hove Albion’s women’s and girls’ academy manager, Perry Northeast said “We’re really excited Olivia has signed her first professional contract.
“She’s a talented young player who has shown fantastic growth in her four years at the club. She has had valuable opportunities to train and play alongside our women’s first team in the last two seasons, including making her debut in the WSL last season.
“We’re eager to see how she develops for the remainder of the season and in the years ahead.”
The England youth international will now continue her development with a view to pushing for further first team opportunities in the coming months.
