Flamengo are likely to have Bruno Henrique available for Sunday’s Brasileirão fixture with Grêmio.
Henrique has been sidelined through injury since the first leg of a Copa do Brasil quarter-final against the same opposition on 25 August.
However the striker has returned to normal training this week, and should be on the bench at the Maracanã.
The expectation is that he will get some minutes in order to prepare him for a probable starting role against Barcelona SC in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores semi-final on Wednesday.
Henrique could be joined on the bench by recent arrival David Luiz, if manager Renato Gaúcho thinks the 34-year-old is ready despite not having played since May.
Grêmio will no doubt be hoping to exact revenge for the 6-0 aggregate cup defeat they just suffered at the hands of the Mengāo.
