Burnley are on the cusp of completing their latest piece of business in the Premier League transfer window.

Sky Germany reporter Marlon Irlbacher claims the Clarets are set to sign Hoffenheim forward Jacob Bruun Larsen on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old winger had one year left on his contract with the Bundesliga club but has extended the deal until 2025 to facilitate the loan move to Burnley.

Hoffenheim are hoping the Danish forward impresses during his spell at Turf Moor so they can sell him permanently next summer.

Bruun Larsen will be reunited with Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, who signed the Denmark international forward on a similar deal during his time at Anderlecht.

The former Borussia Dortmund academy prodigy failed to impress during his six-month loan spell in Belgium, netting twice and providing two assists in 19 outings across all competitions.

Despite his unremarkable numbers, Kompany is set to hand Bruun Larsen a second chance to impress – this time in the Premier League – with the Clarets hoping to retain their top-flight status at the first time asking.

Bruun Larsen only made 15 appearances across all competitions for Hoffenheim last season, although his campaign was significantly derailed by a groin injury that required surgery.

He will be hoping a full season would get him back to his best, especially in a Burnley side famed for their attacking brand of football.

The Dane is not expected to be Burnley’s last piece of business, with the Clarets still looking for reinforcements in defence and central midfield.

Burnley are hopeful of signing Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen on a permanent deal after the Dutchman’s hugely impressive loan stint at Turf Moor last season.

Coventry City midfielder Gustavo Hamer is also attracting concrete interest from the Championship winners with just one year left on his contract.
