With the exception of their two draws against Milan, Cagliari haven’t been able to collect points against the top clubs this season, but they remain a tough nut to crack, as well as a spirited band that is always willing to leave it all out on the pitch.
The Isolani are coming off a 0-2 defeat in Torino, but they’ll be looking to bounce back with a positive result at Lazio’s expense, as they remain in dire need of points. Although they reside 15th in the Serie A table, only one point separates them from the drop zone.
For the first time in Marco Baroni’s reign, Lazio are coming off back-to-back defeats in all competitions. However, the picture isn’t necessarily this bleak for the club. After all, Thursday’s loss in Braga did little harm, as the Biancocelesti still finished on top of the Europa League group stage table.
Nevertheless, Lazio must find some consistency on the domestic front if they intend to remain in the Top 4 spots, as they only won two out of their last seven Serie A contests. This run includes defeats to Inter, Roma and most recently Fiorentina.
Cagliari (4-2-3-1): Caprile; Zappa, Mina, Luperto, Obert; Makoumbou, Adopo; Zortea, Gaetano, Felici; Piccoli.
Lazio (4-2-3-1) : Provedel; Hysaj, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Rovella; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni; Castellanos.
