Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso was not seen on the pitch on Monday for a training session on the eve of a Champions League match against Benfica.

Italy international Cambiaso didn’t train with the rest of his Juventus teammates on Monday.

The Bianconeri are preparing for the final league phase game of the Champions League against Benfica, but the versatile Italian defender’s availability is not guaranteed.

According to Ilbianconero.com, Cambiaso trained in the gym this morning, and Thiago Motta will provide updates on the defender’s fitness during a pre-match press conference later today.

Cambiaso has been linked with a January move to Manchester City, but it is still unclear whether his absence from today’s training session is transfer-related.

The Premier League giants have not yet made a formal bid to sign Cambiaso this month.

Juventus will host Benfica at the Allianz Stadium tomorrow.

The Serie A giants sit 17th in the table, just one point below the top eight.

Cambiaso has two goals and two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions this season.
