Striker Jonathan David is demanding higher wages this summer than Marcus Thuram currently earns at Inter Milan.

This according to TuttoMercatoWeb. They report that along with Inter, the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich remain keen on the 25-year-old Canadian international.

Striker Jonathan David has long looked set to be the big free transfer opportunity of the summer.

The 25-year-old is out of contract with Lille at the end of June. And he has confirmed that he will not extend his deal.

One club who are certainly no stranger to signing players on free transfers is Inter Milan.

Among the numerous notable free transfer signings the Nerazzurri have made is that of striker Marcus Thuram.

And Thuram is probably the most similar to David, in terms of the age and profile of the player involved.

Inter may not have paid a fee to sign Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach.

However, that does not mean that the Nerazzurri did not spend big to land the Frenchman.

Thuram is one of Inter’s highest earners. He earns around €6 million net per season, and Inter pay over €8 million gross.

However, Jonathan David wants more than that. TMW report that the Canadian is asking for €8 million net per season – over €10 million gross.

Cheslea, Arsenal & Bayern Still Keen On Jonathan David

Along with Inter Milan, TMW report, there are a few other clubs still in the race for Jonathan David.

Manchester United are not among them. The Red Devils have instead prioritized a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha.

However, there are still a couple Premier League clubs interested. These are Chelsea and Arsenal.

Then, German giants Bayern Munich are also still considering Jonathan David a target.
