Just how many Carabao Cup Final tickets could United have sold for today’s final?

Enough to fill Wembley entirely, not just once, but five, ten times, who knows?

We think many people, including many Newcastle United fans, simply have no idea just how big the NUFC fanbase is.

Our contacts at Wembley tell us that this Sunday’s Cup Final has seen the biggest demand for tickets ever for any FA Cup or League Cup Final, including/especially for the neutral tickets that cost a large/huge premium.

Those Wembley contacts say that this Sunday’s Cup Final has the biggest demand for tickets since…2023. Yes the Man U v Newcastle United one.

Two years ago we looked at the reselling rip-off sites and what the Carabao Cup Final tickets in the Newcastle United end were going for. They were selling for around twice as much as in the Man U end.

What about this time, how much are 2025 Carabao Cup Final tickets going for from these reselling sites (touts)?

Are Liverpool fans or Newcastle fans having to pay more?

There is no comparison…

On the morning of the match we have checked one of the main reselling sites called Live Football Tickets.

The Shortside Upper Tier has the cheapest tickets for each set of supporters.

These are the cheapest 2025 Carabao Cup Final tickets for Liverpool fans:

As you can see, it is the same story as 2023, reselling sites seeing Newcastle United fans having to pay more than twice as much as Liverpool fans for touted tickets in equivalent areas. We checked in the other better and more expensive areas and it is the same story. Newcastle fans finding reselling sites charging more than twice as much as Liverpool fans are having to pay.

Supply and demand. A lot more Newcastle fans after tickets than Liverpool fans and prepared to pay whatever.

A bit of a recurring theme, demand and supply. The biggest demand coming from Newcastle United fans.

As an aside, this is yet another reason why the new Newcastle United stadium has to be as big as possible when it is eventually built, the number of Newcastle United fans wanting to watch their team is far far higher than what even many of our own NUFC supporters believe it is.

Filling a 52,000+ St James’ Park every match in the Championship eight years ago, even though Mike Ashley was still in control, just because Rafa gave us a little hope by signing a three year contract.

Just imagine what the demand would be if Newcastle United were ever successful…?

The club released a statement (see below) back in 2023, urging all NUFC supporters to not buy match tickets from third party ticketing platforms and unauthorised sellers.

Newcastle United official statement – 4 September 2023:

Newcastle United is urging supporters to avoid using third party ticketing platforms and unauthorised sellers after reports of match tickets appearing online at vastly inflated prices.

Reselling tickets online without the club’s permission or on a fraudulent basis (i.e., without having access to tickets in the first place) is illegal, and the club works with relevant authorities to combat unauthorised sales.

The only place to purchase official tickets for matches at St. James’ Park is via book.nufc.co.uk, and entry to the stadium is now only possible with a secure digital ticket.

The club has made improvements to its ticketing system this summer to not only enhance the matchday experience at St. James’ Park but to ensure loyal supporters who have eligibility to buy tickets – as recognised by the club’s long-standing loyalty points system – have their priority access protected.

For season ticket holders who are unable to attend a home match, they can now use the club’s official reselling platform to sell tickets directly to eligible members at face value.

Any tickets purchased from third party sites will not be valid and will therefore not work at the St. James’ park turnstiles, which will result in access being denied at turnstiles without refund.
