Carlo Ancelotti speaks out on Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid arrival | OneFootball

Outbound Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti was on Tuesday drawn on the subject of his incoming replacement in Spain’s capital.

This, of course, comes as Los Blancos prepare for a new era under the watch of Xabi Alonso.

A change on the bench in Spain’s capital has long been on the cards, amid what has been a hugely underwhelming campaign on the part of Real Madrid to date.

Early this week, the matter took a major step forward, as Carlo Ancelotti was officially named as the new manager of the Brazilian national team.

It is football’s worst kept secret at this point, meanwhile, that the Italian’s successor will come in the form of the aforementioned Xabi Alonso.

Speaking during his latest press conference on Tuesday, ex-midfielder Alonso’s name was therefore put to Carlo Ancelotti himself.

And the legendary tactician went on to explain:

“Xabi Alonso doesn’t need any advice from me as he’s already a great manager. He has everything to become a top, top coach.”
