This week, one of the leading transfer stories in Spain has been Al Ahli’s interest in signing Vinicius Junior. The Saudi Arabian giants are prepared to smash the world transfer record in order to secure the services of the Real Madrid superstar, who would become the highest-paid player in sporting history if he were to make the move.
As expected, Real Madrid consider Vinicius to be an indispensable player, and he would only leave in the event of his release clause being triggered. As such, they are relaxed about the situation – and so is Carlo Ancelotti, and he told the media during his press conference on Tuesday (via Diario AS).
“It’s nothing. These are market speculations and nothing more.”
Ancelotti also spoke on the prospect of any of his other players being poached by clubs in the Middle East.
“We have our project. A high-quality squad. We work for this. Important players have arrived who have to adapt. The collective attitude was key.”
It would be a huge surprise if Vinicius were to leave Real Madrid, the club of his life. Even if Al Ahli were to trigger his release clause, it’s unlikely that personal terms would be agreed – even if they were to throw all of the money in the world at the Brazilian winger.
