Edinson Cavani is behind Manchester United's interest in River Plate midfielder Nicolas De La Cruz.

De La Cruz has impressed so far at the Copa America, playing all three games so far including the latest victory over Bolivia. The 24-year-old has been valued at up to €20m.

Just 5ft6, the stocky midfielder has been praised for his nippy footwork and close control and comes with a seal of approval from Cavani.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star signed a new contract earlier this summer to extend his stay at Old Trafford by another year.

De La Cruz, meanwhile, is also interesting Fiorentina this summer.
