We don’t want or need any Guard of Honour from theRangers, we know we’re Champions and we also understand just how much that hurts them year after year after year…

It’s nearly Glasgow Derby day and as you’d expect this past week has seen the spotlight firmly focused on the final clash of the campaign between Scottish football’s biggest rivals, but only one thing seems to have been the topic of discussion.

Everyone and anyone has had their ten cents worth

Everyone and anyone has had their ten cents worth on whether theRangers should be doing the right thing by giving Celtic a guard of honour as the newly crowned Scottish Champions walk onto the Ibrox pitch on Sunday afternoon, 17 points clear of the latest Ibrox outfit who are in second place in the Scottish Premiership.

As for me personally, I couldn’t care less if they did it or not. Would we do the same? Although as Luke McCowan said I guess we’ll never find out, but I would never think of welcoming them on the park in such a way.

Brendan Rodgers says it’s a mark of respect, but a simple well done behind the scenes is all that’s needed to be honest. We are the best side in the country and we don’t need any through gritted teeth displays of respect to know that.

Listen, theRangers management team, the players and the supporters all know we are the best side in the country. They don’t need to show us that. We can show them by doing our talking on the pitch and that’s exactly what the Celtic support are looking to see happen tomorrow at Ibrox.

Jota needs our full support over the difficult months ahead

Celtic will be without Jota tomorrow and indeed for the rest of the year after suffering a long term knee injury at Tannadice last weekend when the Scottish Premiership title was secured. That’s a much more concerning issue for the Celtic support and as a support we’ll need to give Jota all the support possible as he works his way back to full fitness. Six months at best but it’s more likely to be the nine months or even longer.

When he comes back the Celtic players should give Jota his own Guard of Honour. That I would love to see.
