Celtic have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their upcoming Premiership fixture.
That’s according to a report by The Scotsman, who claim that, after missing Celtic’s last five league fixtures due to injury, the 25-year-old January signing is finally set to make a return to first-team action against Dundee this afternoon.
In their report, the publication state: “Celtic midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi is available again for Sunday’s visit of Dundee in the cinch Premiership.”

Considering the fact that Ideguchi was brought into Celtic this winter in order to provide greater depth behind Callum McGregor in the more defensive role of Postecoglou’s three-man midfield, the return of the Japan international will undoubtedly have left the 56-year-old Bhoys boss buzzing.
Indeed, with McGregor playing with two broken bones in his face in recent weeks, the availability of the £810k-rated midfielder will finally allow the Greek-Australian coach to afford his club captain a well-earned rest against the bottom of the table Dundee – something that would appear highly advisable with the Hoops’ facing a crucial trip to Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League next Thursday.

Furthermore, with Ideguchi having so far played just 100 minutes of football since his January move to Parkhead, a home tie against a struggling Dark Blues side will provide the 56-year-old coach with the perfect opportunity to once again blood the industrious Japanese midfielder into first-team football before some of the Bhoys’ more challenging upcoming fixtures.
As such, the return of the 25-year-old will undoubtedly come as a huge boost to Postecoglou – who will certainly be hoping that the Hoops can dispatch Dundee without too many problems ahead of his side’s trip to Norway next week.
