If a report from the Danish outlet Tipsbladet is believed to be true, Celtic are among a host of clubs to keep tabs on Tammer Bany. The emerging Randers FC forward is also being monitored by FC Nantes, OH Leuven, Al Ahli and Rakow Czestochowa ahead of a potential January transfer.

Meanwhile, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise had their bid rejected for the youngster earlier this month. The Belgians tabled an offer of around £1.1m, but the Danish side rejected it instantly as they are looking for a club-record sale of more than £2.2m. USG have not returned with a second bid thus alerting the other suitors over a winter move before it gets too late.

Randers’ sporting director Soren Pedersen has not ruled out an exit.

“The plan is that Rasmus (Bertelsen, manager) will also have him available when we start up again. But it is clear that he is one of those who has been very active around, and there are still clubs that are interested. So, I would not say that I am 100 percent sure that he will be here when the window closes. The ambition is that he will stay.”

Pedersen (as quoted by The Daily Record) hopes to have him in East Jutland once the Danish Superliga season resumes post-winter break.

The 21-year-old Dane progressed through the academy ranks of Vanløse IF and Boldklubben af 1893 before breaking into the latter’s first-team squad as a teenager. Bany scored 14 goals and laid on 5 more in 66 senior appearances [stats via Transfermarket] and the promises exhibited by the attacking ace led to a €135k move to Randers in February 2024.

Why Celtic Should Secure His Services

Although he has yet to hit the ground running for the Horses, his flexibility in and around the attacking must have caughtCeltic’s attention, particularly after Kyogo Furuhashi’s egress. The Japanese hitman has left for Rennes, whereas Jota has returned to his former club in the aftermath of a brief stint with the French outfit. Jota’s arrival would bolster the Hoops down the flanks, but they are in desperate need of a new ‘number 9’ to challenge and cover Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny.

Kenny, meanwhile, has been recalled from his loan stint with Shamrock Rovers but is not ready yet to secure a starting status week in, and week out. Bany, on the other hand, holds a very high ceiling with ample top-flight experience in Denmark and his profile makes him a perfect fit for the Parkhead project under Brendan Rodgers.
