Celtic want to sign Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden as a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi, according to the Scottish Sun.
The Parkhead club are expected to lose the Japanese international in a £10 million move to Rennes, and manager Brendan Rodgers has identified the Dane as his replacement.
Celtic wanted the 22-year-old Kvistgaarden last January and last summer but both clubs could not agree on a fee.
The Brondby star was eager to move to the Scottish Premiership club before and is believed to still be keen on the switch now, and around £8m could get a deal done.
Celtic need to bolster their attacking ranks when Kyogo moves on, and Kvistgaarden fits the bill, with 14 goals to his name across all competitions this term.
The Hoops are hoping to be third-time lucky following two failed attempts to land the former Denmark youth international, but they will face fierce competition for his services.
Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt also want the Celtic target after losing Omar Marmoush to Manchester City, and Brondby want to hold out for top dollar.
Kvistgaarden has told the Danish Superliga club he plans to move on either in this window or in the summer, and they will be keen to get the best value from a sale.
Celtic need to finish the campaign strongly and could do with more quality additions as they look to impress in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
A late 1-0 victory over Young Boys on Wednesday night guaranteed a top-24 finish in the 36-team league table with a game to spare, with the Bhoys sitting level on points with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Celtic have qualified for the Champions League playoff round and will now hope to advance to the last-16 for the first time in 12 years afterwards.
